Amazing 1972 '72 Fender Twin Reverb. The Granddaddy of Tone.

  • $899.00

You are looking at an incredible early '70s 1970s tone machine. Here we have a '72 1972 Fender Twin Reverb in very nice condition. It is an early master volume version but does not have the (somewhat maligned) push-pull button on the master volume knob that was added later. It drips with vintage mojo. The cleans are warm, pristine and dreamy. The reverb echoes and spacey vibrato take you back in time. The Fender Twin is central to modern music history, serving as the tonal foundation for countless bands and artists ranging from blues to rock to country. It is a foundational amp that is a cornerstone for any collection. This one has the usual scuffs and scrapes in the tolex but comes with an exceptionally clean grill. The speakers are matching 1978 Rolas, which are obviously not original but they are correct for Fender Twins of that era. I have a 1977 Fender Twin and this one beats it out for warmth, harmonics and atmosphere. The foot switch is original but has been spliced near the RCA connectors (see photos). Occasionally, it needs an extra stomp to engage but still gets the job done. A reissue foot switch can be had for $25 to $50. One tilt-back leg is missing, again an easy and inexpensive addition. It does have wheels, which come in handy because this amp is a beast and a back-breaker at approximately 70 pounds.
